FAQ
How long will I have to pay my Future Forward campaign pledge? We encourage donors to pay their pledges over a five-year period. Because these funds will be used to pay off debt associated with our building projects, a shorter pledge period would greatly benefit our goals.
How much should I give? That is a personal decision that only you can make. We are asking donors to consider giving at certain levels, knowing that a project of this size will require especially generous gifts from our constituents.
Are gifts of stocks, bonds, or real property accepted? Yes, by all means! Gifts of appreciated stock and property can often have substantial tax advantages for the donor. We encourage you to speak with your financial advisor to determine the best way to make a gift.
Will you accept planned gifts? Yes, but they will not count toward the primary Future Forward campaign goal. All planned gifts will be used at maturity to build the endowment or for other purposes the donor arranges with the school. In order to meet the need that the Future Forward campaign is designed to fund, we need current gifts in cash, stock, and appreciated assets.
Why now? The Burlington School has reached a critical point, and without the Future Forward expansion we will not be able to meet the growth demands of this community for a strong independent school.
Why these projects? The Future Forward must have space for our student body to grow. These projects are part of the Board of Trustees strategic plan to develop a campus master plan with input from all constituents. This plan supports TBS’s academic, arts, athletic, and co-curricular programming needs – considering current needs and projecting decades into the future.
