Event Details

What time is the event?

5:30 – 6:30 Cocktail Hour – Beer, Wine, with Cash Liquor Bar available (Cash Liquor Bar ticket purchases are available from 5:30-7:30 only)

6:30-7:30 Dinner and Derby Showing

7:30-9:00 Fund-A-Need and Live Auction

9:00-11:00 – Dancing with DJ Joe Bunn and late-night Hor D’oeuvres

What is the cost? General admission is $95 per person and includes dinner, beer, and wine. A cash liquor bar is also available, and cash liquor bar tickets will be sold until 7:30. Sponsorships that include admission are also available for purchase by individuals or businesses.

May I request specific people to sit at my table for dinner? Yes, as you register online, please indicate table guest or email chloelambe@gmail.com.

What is the attire for the evening? Cocktail attire.

Why does TBS have a Spring Event each year? This fundraiser is our most sustaining appeal which supports academic, athletic, and artistic excellence for over 400 students. This year's goal is $80,000. Together, we can reach this target!

What is Fund-A-Need? Each year TBS identifies a need that is outside what tuition revenue covers. Past Fund-A-Need items have included playground improvement, a large TBS bus, media center upgrades, and new technology for our faculty and staff. This year's Fund-A-Need will be announced soon. Online giving is available through the auction bidding site and will continue the night of the event. The auctioneer will use part of the live auction to encourage giving to Fund-A-Need by using your smartphone. Any amount of giving is welcome and encouraged; together, we can do great things!

How are payments made? Before the Saturday night live event, you will be able to set up a debit/credit card on your online account through our auction site beginning on April 26th. You may also create your online account at check-in during the event. Bidding will close at 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 3rd. This will aid in quicker check-out times at the end of the event.

How does a silent auction work? You may log in to the auction site on April 26th. Items will be displayed and may be bid on through your account. On the night of the event, items will be displayed on tables and guests will be able to continue bidding via their smartphones. The silent auction will begin on Saturday, April 26th, and will close on Saturday, May 3rd at 9:00 P.M. The check-out period will take place from 9:00 P.M. - 9:30 P.M.

What is the "live auction"? Each year the auction committee determines several items to be included in the live auction. These items will be available on the auction site for preview but bidding will not open until the night of the event. After dinner, the auctioneer will begin the live auction portion of the evening. Each person will be given a paddle with a number at check-in. This will be your bidding number for the live auction. Once the live auction has closed, the winning bid numbers will be added to the auction system and your preferred payment method on file may be used to pay for any items won, as well as any donations made throughout the evening. Is it ok for me to bring my children? This is an adult-only event. No one under the age of 18 will be permitted into the event space.

Is child care offered? No, childcare is not provided for the night of the event.

Special Instructions: The Silent Auction will continue throughout the event at Alamance Country Club. If you are the winning bidder of an item and attending the Live Auction you MUST pick up the item(s) from Alamance Country Club following your checkout through the auction site. The Burlington School and Alamance Country Club are NOT RESPONSIBLE for items left behind. If you are the winning bidder and not attending the Live Auction Event at Alamance Country Club, the item may be picked up at The Burlington School, 1615 Greenwood Terrace Burlington, NC 27215 within 48 business hours (Tuesday, April 16, 2024, by 4:00 PM) following the close of the item's bidding. Items may be shipped if requested at the purchaser's expense. Winning bidders must contact The Burlington School via email at mqualls@theburlingtonschool.org or by phone (336) 228-0296 within 72 hours of winning the item to review delivery options and arrange for personal contact information on items that require both donor and winner arrangements.

Disclaimer: Any alcoholic beverage or beverages purchased at The Burlington School Auction must be removed from the premises of the auction on the evening of the event. The Burlington School will not be responsible for shipping alcohol locally, nationally, or internationally. Items for auction containing alcohol will not be offered for online sales.
